The First Post

Ah, yes, the first post of the blog. Some people believe that this is an integral time in a blogs life--a time when the author gets his first real chance to connect with an audience. Considering that the first post is view by no one for weeks on end until the author actually gets an audience, I don't really know why people would believe that which is why I completely made up that sentence, but somebody always believes in something, so there probably are people like that out there. As far as I'm concerned the first post really isn't for any existing audience at the time it is written. Rather it is written mainly for the blogger as to make him/her feel a bit more important, and also for those hopefully die-hard fans down the line that wonder towards the blogs origins. Mostly the prior--hopefully the latter. So, accepting the latter as I like to indulge my ego from time to time, I'll treat this post as a time capsule for those die-hard fans I just mentioned.

To each and every one of my fans that dig into the blog's archives just to find my first words on this monumentally, groundbreaking, epochal, and lets not forget redundant, blog of mine...wow. Several emotions occur to me now. The first of which being my amazement at having fans to this degree. In that regard, thank you. You're really proving your loyalty to me right now. The second feeling would be that you're also proving your obsessiveness. *pat pat* it's ok though, just remember that everyone is entitled to their privacy, especially the guy you regard highly enough to read his first post. I'd say I'm also amused to think that there would be people out there that get and enjoy my quirky sense of humor that much, so thank you again. Then of course, there might be the online investigator who's trying to find dirt on me at some point down the line. In which case, cut me some slack. Really. I'm an approachable guy. If anyone has a problem with me I'm sure we can talk it out. Also, I'm sorry if I did anything to wrong you. It was my fault, and I'd like to make it better. See? No reason to try and slander me, just drop me a line. We'll talk.

Now that I've covered my comprehensive time capsule, let me put a little something up for those of you who will read this on the chance that you're just browsing through new blogs to see if there's anything interesting, or if you're one of the first fans of the blog that actually get to see the first few posts. (Though I doubt the prior would read this far.) Artistic Dreams of a Savage Mind is a video game blog. In essence, it really is just a way for me to start putting my thoughts and theories on video games up so other people can see them (namely potential employers). Most likely there will be plenty of reviews, and general vg-related nonsense, but I will occasionally put my deep thoughts on certain theories I have up.

Why Artistic Dreams of a Savage Mind? It's catchy and reminds me of the long title in that Jim Carry movie a while back, what was it, 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'? I don't know, it has a certain flow to it, that makes it sound pretty when you say it. There's certainly a message in there, one that you're free to interpret, just keep in mind that I neither consider myself 'savage' or intended anything when I thought it up. Just a nice title.

Lastly, for those first peoples to encounter my blog, let me just ask that you bare with me as I get used to having my first blog. I'm going to try and figure out how everything works, so I can get it in ship shape for those die-hard fans down the line. Oh, and thanks for listening to me prattle, as I have a feeling that if you're actually reading this sentence, you can stand my "preachiness" as my beloved calls it, and are likely to be reading my future posts. Kudos and cheers, I look forward to entertaining you for months and years to come.
